John Eldridge

John David Eldridge (Music Director) is a pianist, conductor, and theatre music director, and currently teaches at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee as an assistant professor in the department of Musical Theatre. In addition to maintaining a busy schedule as both an educator and a freelance performer/MD, he owns and operates a business called Stage Sounds, which provides keyboard programming for musicals to productions around the world (www.stage-sounds.com).

Locally, John has extensive experience with school and youth theater programs, including North Shore Music Theater, Reagle Music Theater, Wheelock Family Theater, Wellesley Theatre Project, Middlesex School Summer Arts, Concord Youth Theater, Alexander Childrens’ Theater School, Fenn/Nashoba Brooks Schools, Concord Carlisle High School, Concord Middle School, Gann Academy, and North Reading High School.
At NRHS he has been music director of the drama club (“Masquers”) since 2018. Recently, the Masquers were fortunate to win the prestigious “Best Musical” category not once, but in two consecutive years for “Pippin” (2022) and “SpongeBob” (2023) at the Stephen Sondheim awards (Connecticut & Massachusetts' regional award program in association with the National High School Musical Theater Awards).
Since 2015 John has also been the resident music director for Pentucket Players, one of the premier community theater groups in Massachusetts. In that time he has music directed/conducted 25+ productions, and recently received EMACT DASH nominations for Outstanding Music Direction in three consecutive seasons for “Evita” (2021), “A Little Night Music” (2022), and “Sunday in the Park With George” (2023).
Other local credits include “Seussical”, “Billy Elliot” (MD, Firehouse Center for the Arts), “Company” (Acting Out), “Little Women” (Associate MD, Wheelock Family Theater), “Curious George”, “Madagascar” (MD, North Shore Music Theater), “Mamma Mia” (Associate MD, North Shore Music Theater), and “42nd Street” (“Oscar” the rehearsal pianist, Reagle Music Theater).
John has performed as a pianist, percussionist, and vocalist not only with musical theatre productions but also with orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, and choruses across the United States, Canada, UK, and Japan.
